The Business

Quest Consumables Ltd are seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager who will become an integral part of the sales team as the business moves positively forward. Quest Consumables Ltd are a large supplier of workshop consumables across the UK, specialising in the sales and distribution of high-volume, low-cost workshop consumables through our distribution network. Our core customers are Automotive Motor Factors, Automotive Trade Dealers and Engineers, Merchants

The market opportunity is vast, as is our target customer base. Flexibility in meeting the demands of our customers will continue to be central to our success, as will the continued development of new and innovative ways of adding further value to our existing proposition.

We are seeking a driven and motivated yet disciplined individual who is able to communicate well and develop a strong rapport with existing and new customers and understands the MRO market (Maintain/Repair/Overhaul).  You must be able to demonstrate a good commercial awareness with a positive track record within a similar role, to which this will be your next progression.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering our strategy nationwide and in achieving steady growth from a customer base which is based upon 70% existing customers and 30% from new business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a range of existing accounts / customers
  • Identify and break into new customers within our core
  • Spend an agreed amount of time in face-to-face meetings
  • Achieve targeted sales growth whilst hitting agreed KPIs
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure an excellent customer service
  • Informative reporting on customer activity via CRM

Skills and Experience

  • Good working knowledge of the automotive, plant & industrial supply chain
  • Experience of dealing with multisite end user workshops
  • Proven track record within a field-based sales environment
  • Ability to grow existing business whilst also winning new accounts
  • IT literate and ability to use CRM systems efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A professional outlook and the ability to build relationships at all levels
